Upcycle What You Already Own

Your closet has more potential than you think! Can you recreate an iconic look by styling some casual pieces in a new way?

Pumpkins: Decent Decoration, Even Better Dessert

Pumpkin is a staple in many fall foods. If you choose to decorate with pumpkins, check out different recipes that use all parts of the pumpkin!

Composting old pumpkins helps counteract methane emissions that are released from decaying pumpkins in the trash.

Some pumpkin meals to try are pumpkin seeds, pumpkin pie, and pumpkin muffins!

Decorate With More Natural Options

  • Turnips or courgettes can be a great alternative for carving pumpkins!

  • Try all-natural twins to make spiderwebs instead of buying fake decorative webs

  • Repurpose old clothing scraps to make little ghosts or scarecrows

  • Use old cans or jars as little lanterns to decorate your yard

Hand Out Smartly Packaged Candy

It's no secret that thousands of candy wrappers end up in the streets and in the trash after Halloween.

If you choose to give out candy, try to opt for treats that come in recyclable cardboard (e.g. Nerds, Dots, Mike and Ikes). Paper-wrapped candies are also great!

Or, consider giving out little erasers or bouncy balls that don't come in individual packaging at all!
